Still freaking me out freezes!8800GT Super + 1GB Problems.Usual.

Sup bros, you know what.I changed my Palit 8800gts 1gig for a 8800gt + super 1gb.Because it was freezing on games.

I still have the same things.Memtest86 wont give a thing, tried cpu on another pc works super duber uber, psu could handle a 9800gtx on the RMA,GPU couldn't handle CoD 1 on my pc.I didn't try it on another and cant.

Still,i am on 174.70 and downloading the newest WHQL drivers,175.63.

If that wont work too,i guess i will pass to ATI.Give me a reason for not passing if that wont work.

Why is this heck happening with all 8800gt's around, even with nvidia's own 8800gt's?

Google 8800gt freezing and u get like 20 pages of crap.

So.Why wont nvidia do any good 8800gt's or how can we fix the problem?Help.

Now that you've kinda got things working, I'm going to give you a link to something called Driver Cleaner Pro.

Driver Cleaner Pro

For future reference, this is how you should install your video drivers each and every time (well, at least this is how I do it).

1) Uninstall your Nvidia Drivers from your Control Panel in WinXP or Vista. (Do NOT restart the computer yet)

2) Run Driver Cleaner Pro and select either Nvidia or ATi (in this case, choose Nvidia ) and click Start!

3) Restart the computer and load it into SAFE MODE. I'm pretty sure you just hit F8 right before the loading screen for both Vista and XP (It's been awhile since I installed new drivers LoL)

4) Once in Safe Mode, run Driver Cleaner Pro again to completely clean the old drivers. After completion, you can install your new drivers from Safe Mode.

5) Restart computer and you're done!

Hopefully this helps you get in the routine so hopefully you won't have so many issues with drivers in the future.

Could also be overheating, that'd be a good thing to check also.
Drivers, also a possibly problem, already suggested so I won't go into that.

Wait, wait, wait.I played cod1 for 2 hours now,but paradise city will keep f----ree-----zz----ing.I really dont know why,i now have 175.16 drivers and it still keeps freezing. Is it the game?

Oooooooo.Paradise City was just freezing cus AA was on x4 and antisoptoric or something like that was 8.A 8800gt cant handle that much A* things as i know.Problem solved.

Just as an FYI, I believe that when AA causes your card to freeze, it's likely that cause of this is that the AA is causing the memory chips to get too hot. Turning on AA causes memory usage (both in terms of amount and throughput) to increase significantly, thus, more heat being generated. Could also be an overclocking issue, but you said you're not OC'd, so in your case that's prolly not it.

I started to get the freezing back with AA off.It was stable yesterday i could play both EFPC and COD1 smooth at max settings with AA at 1 for 6 hours. But now i cant even play 2 mins.I didn't have anything changed except the 175.7* drivers. And i updated to 175.7* from 175.1* because i got freezes on 175.1.My card is freshly oced,at 47c idle temps which is quite low for stock clocks for other cards.I don't know...I wont send it to RMA.What should i do really?
