Running my Pc in 1080i problems

okay i would like to just check is there a way on getting a better picture for windows on a full HD monitor like my samsung 27" when i play in 720 format it fine but when i go to 1080 it goes all wired flickers a bit like refresh rate to low i think its 30 or 60 not sure, and the text and icons are to tiny to use, any ideas anyone ?

Under the display control pannel you can change the DPI of the lettering from 96 to 120 i think.

The reason its a crappy picture is because 1080i only supports 30 hertz. My suggestion is getting a monitor if you want to play above 720p. Thats what i have to do too
