NVIDIA = fail and no I am not a Ati fan I hate both of them;its just that I hate NVIDIA more.
I missed the days when ATI card is made ATI, pure quality(not cheap tho lol), days when cars are durable, instead of same look on every car with the "i can't handle 200 lb guy" suspension, and i missed the times when artist makes music from passion instead of nothing but money making and fame

You come from the school of thought that flipping a light on and off wastes electricity so it's best to leave it on 24/7?

I does not "waste" energy, since the energy is being used to turn on the thing (therefore serving a purpose). It uses more power, and that's a different thing. Of course, this is minimal when you talk about single devices like home appliances and such (as opposed to powering a whole 80 story building), but the extra energy is still being used. I don't know how the technology will act, since it's not out yet, that's why I'm curious as to how they both (AMD's and nvidia's) compare in relation to overall power consumption and system/sub-system performance.
