I disagree with rockstar being a great company =|

Also, the 360 had online downtime for some people on halo and a couple others, we now see this on the PS3 versions of GTAIV. How come noone has pointed that out?

Well, when it happened to Halo everyone exeperienced it so you heard everyone crying about it. I myself have never experienced any problems with the GTA 4 online play and neither has my roommate. We play online a lot together with various other people.

I think this patch is more so for the people who have had their games freeze while playing, but how many people have had it happen to them is the question. It's all about the numbers so let's please keep the fanboyism stuff to ourselves. All it does is disrupt what could have been a decent thread.

I haven't played GTA4 yet, and probably won't for awhile. It does look like an AWESOME game though. If I had a 360(or PS3) I'd be all over it, but alas, PC gamers are neglected again, as usual
*leaves before flamed to a puddle of goo*
What I find funnier is how much people used to bash PC gaming for being buggy and requiring patches, and having to install games etc. Yet low and behold a console game that needs a patch fix and beyond that the new GTA5 is supposed to be installed on the HD to play GG say bye bye to pop and play.

well it doesnt seem to have really changed anything. loading times are smoother and more stable.. but other than thats its just the same. Its probably just evening out some issues here and there that people were having.

Yea, what ever happened to QA departments?

I remember that older games used to have maybe 1 or 2 patches, and consoles never really needed them. Now with more downloadable stuff availible, it seems that all the development companies just did away with their QA departments, and took the "It compiles! Lets ship it" mentality.

On that topic, did the optimization departments, or the theory of optimization, die away too?
