Ok make sure you have the latest Asus Update utility and try this.
Select Options from the drop down menu click next then put a check in BIOS downgradable.

Thanks jameskelsey, but that didn't work. I changed my bios to 17xx, 1802, and the newest, 1901 but none have fixed the problem. I even reinstalled windows to make sure it was not a bad chipset driver. Help????

Ok I have a couple questions.
If you open Asus update then options is the check mark on BIOS downgradable there?
To clear the CMOS first unplug the computer then remove the battery after that move the jumper to the clear position and wait 10 seconds (some say to leave it longer) then move the jumper back and reinstall the battery.
Did you clear the CMOS in this way?
Do you have your manual?
If not download it from Asus.
Their are 4 ways to update or recover a corrupted BIOS listed in the BIOS section of the manual, have you tried any other than Asus update?

Good suggestions James.

Bremaine, here is something that I found on the Asus forum:

To downgrade your BIOS when Asus Update won't do it (due to using AFUDOS in the first place) or because of another EEPROM error/ inability to access Windows simply download AFUDOS v 2.07 (all other versions will not work). Prepare your DOS boot disk w/ the BIOS you want to downgrade to. Now at the Command Promt A:\\> enter flash like this (without parentheses)
"AFUDOS /PBNC /I<BIOS.ROM>" Its pretty self-expanatory (remove the < and > on either side of the bios file name.

Not sure if that helps.

Good luck

yeah with the 15xx or 16xx bios you could not down grade

grab the new 19xx bios from the site

and yes the older bios has a htt bug when the option are changed from auto in the bios.

1903.bin + asus update will solve the bios problem

Alright, 1.yes, the check mark is there.
2.I took out the battery and mover the jumper to clear the CMOS.
3.I tried the ASUS update approach, and I tried the EZ flash 2 utility in the bios.

Bremaine, see my above post if you haven't already.

What baffles me is how is your machine even booting at 207mhz HT? Unless the BIOS bug just displays the wrong value.

Good luck

FIXED! After spending several hours trying to downgrade the bios, I finally got a working boot cd with the 1201 bios on it and blam, 1000 ht link speed through cpuz. I ran 3dmark06 again and got a 8965! Thanks everyone, it feels good to have such great help.
