Reving fan?

Thread Starter
Sometimes when I play games my cpu fan revs and I have no idea why. Is this bad or normal?

In the System Bios, it is set to Auto Speed, or something of the like. It hits a temperature, speeds up, then drops below a temperature, and slows down. I had the same problem. I used SpeedFan to set it at a specific speed for ever.

You sure it's the CPU fan and not GPU fan (or even power supply fan)? Either way, it's completely normal. If you haven't messed with your fan settings all those fans are hooked up to ramp up and down by default given the temperature measured by their specific component.

Make sure the fans arent arent on temperature control in BIOS, although if you keep them at 100% all the time it will be like during games, all the time.
