i figure once you hear rumors of new handhelds coming out, it'll be at least a year before it happens. you've got some life for both of them

I bought my DS november 2004, then lite in 06 and i love them. New SMB, zelda PH, EBA, Ninja gaiden, meteos, metroid, tetris ds, mario 64(w/150 stars) mariokart ds......etc all great games, huge catalog in it's 4th year

there's a new wii channel lets you dl demo's onto your ds wirelessly, great multi if you know people with one(8-10 people possible), online with most new games.....

the psp has some great games as well (GTA:LCS, tekken5, syphon filter, FF VII Crysis core) and seems to be picking up steam in sales.......

....but i don't think it's due to being superior to the ds platform, but more that ds has a huge saturation as it is and more people who wanted one have it (34million vs 70 million), their best selling games show their lead more, (2million vs 18 million)

i am definately biasd towards the ds, but to tell you the truth i usually don't use handhelds in a public place.i use them at home or on a long drive/flight. and that's why the "unique" factor is important to me.

EDIT: have to salt the wounds

16 hours of battery life on a ds lite with the brightness on low (about the same as original ds)
beat that
