Comcast are *******s, what with sending false packets of data to torrenters with their Sandvine technology.

Old news dude, if you kept up with the recent stuff, you would know that they are phasing out sandvine. My area is completely sandvine free now, I went from about 35 kb/s upload sustained to the 125 kb/s upload sustained currently. I've had no problems with Comcast other than this cap they are considering at the moment.

Phasing out doesn't mean it is completely gone. And trust me I am quite up to date with most information regarding piracy.

I dont think you people realize just how much 250gigs a month is. That's a little over 8 gigs a day.

24/7 download/uploading, at max speeds, on my connection, would only yield 5.8 gigs of bandwidth a day.

Adverts and spyware could be blamed for usage. nobody has mentioned newsgroups or usenet yet. streaming video content on youtube and similar sites is hugely popular.
my isp doesnt throttle or trafficshape so 7000/400 isnt so bad. ...i may have gone over my isp's cap a few times but its only a little torrenting.

comcast probably sees something happening in the future with larger blue-ray data files and high definition streaming video.

yep...250gb in a month is not alot of space...

heck if you download a 5gig dvd torrent ans seed it you can do that in a short few hours...in a single day...so if you did that everyday plus internet traffic will probably count for page load info you could easily reach that amount and less than 2 weeks...

I say so then who's boss and switch ISPs to some one else...
