I am unfamiliar with either motherboard. Which is best do you think, for this price range? Or does someone have another suggestion?

The 650i is good on dual cores, not very good on OCing quads. I heard the P35 is better for the quads.
The 650i was just onsale for $50 after MIR about 2 weeks ago, wait & it'll go cheap again.

Both are good for OC (dual-core) but at similar price, I would go for Intel chipset rahter nvidia unless you do SLI.

well it depends on if you want SLI or not. If you ABSOLUTELY desire to have SLI, then go with the nvidia chipset. If you are wanting to OC a quad with nvidia, you'll need the 680i. If you do not desire SLI, then definitely go with the P35. The P35 chipset is a very good chipset and is getting great OCs with chips. And the GA-P35-DS3 is a VERY goo choice. (I went with the DS4 because it has better cooling and i saw a DS3 catch electrical fire on this site so i considered the better cooling)

If you're wanting to crossfire, the P35 chipset has a limitation. It can only do 16x 4x lanes. (the 4x is electrically wired 4x, but the size of 16x card)
The 650i can only do 8x8x when in sli.
If you want crossfireX, then you'll need the x38 chipset.

nVidia chipsets don't allow for as high of OCs like the intel chipets do.

If you can hold off for another week or two, I am going to be posting an ASUS P5N-E SLI 650i motherboard for free (there will be a catch though..I have to make it fair for everyone). I am swapping it with the Gigabyte P35 DS3L motherboard ironically (I am upgrading for someone running a quad)...

It will be open for everyone, and I will pick the winner.

edit: The DS3L only has 1 PCI-E slot, so no multi GPU support there.
