The drivers I am using for my Fatal1ty Xtremegamer are the same ones listed for the regular Xtremegamer.

I got my drivers from this page:

I didn't see anything especially outstanding when installing them. But I do know that they work on my card.

Personally, if I were you, I'd contact the Creative Tech support via e-mail about the problem... they would get back with you in about 2 - 3 days. Possibly they might have some inside info that may help you.

BTW... take a look at this: http://193.95.171.83/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WE....creative.com/

Do you have the Digital I/O box checked? If so, then that will grey out the Mic/Line-in box.. You can't do both at the same time. Maybe that is the issue here. ???

I dunno.. hopefully you can find some resolution to the issue. Good luck.

Ok, just for the heck of it I took my X-Fi and put it in my friends rig running XP PRO SP2.

Not sure what is going on with yours man, worked like a charm just like it had in XP for me before.

You are using teh latest drivers right?? And most every negative thing I have read was due to it not working in Vista anyways. XP had every option working so maybe just try to start from the beginning.

It's a pain but unistall the card and drivers. Get your rig back to where it was before.

Go in Bios and disable on-board audio. Re-install teh X-Fi and clean drivers.

Thread Starter
all those digital I/O options they show in the tutorial where not there or where grey'ed out. That Digital I/O check box wasn't even in my windows sound managment options. The one shown below.

To get my rig back to normal I gota reformat it. I have no sound now even with the realtech drivers installed. I double checked to make sure my onboard device was using the driver. I'm not sure what the X-Fi drivers did to my system.
