first monster build - Page 14

Didn't you previously have a QX9770 on a DFI mainboard ?. Its proven fact that overclocking reduces life span its like nitrous supercharger it boosts performance but for a duration before its done.

Asus put too much junk on it. It has lots of fun easy to use features, but it is absolutely terrible for overclocking quads with 1333FSBs. 400*8(Q9450) is only at 3.2Ghz, and it's almost completely clocked to the max. Another 50FSB doesn't give me much.

I've had this QX9650 for a long time. I've used it on a DFI LT X38, an Asus P5K Deluxe, and my current P5K3 Pemium. I also had an E6850, overclocked farthest on the DFI, almost as high on the P5K, and slowest on the Premium. The QX followed the same pattern. DFI's stripped down motherboards always overclock better than most others.

hey guys, I have a question, can I go quad SLI with the 780i, is there a big performance difference between the 790i and the 780i?
790i is a practically new design compared to 780i.

but what are the changes, would it improve the overall performance, would it run better on a quad SLI setup, better than the 780i?
