Shopping for a new monitor

Thread Starter
I'm trying to get a job this summer and i want to upgrade my monitor. Now this is one area i know pretty much nothing about what brands are good so i need some help.

What i do with my computer: I don't game all that much. The only games i play are Age of Empires, Empire Earth, and I'm trying to get Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. As you can see id don't do much gaming. (and i don't plan to) But i do read alot off the internet and i watch TV and Movies.

What i'm looking at is getting a 22" widescreen w/ 1680x1050 resolution and good colors. and i'm wondering what sort of response time to be looking at. I don't want the best monitor out there, but i want to get one that might like me a while.

If anyone could help me out here, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

I had a 20" with 5ms response and never noticed any problems. I was very pleased with it.

check out the one in my sig. I paid 220 before shipping on the 'egg. Can't ask for more when a lot of 22" LCDs come out around 270$ before shipping range.
