Thank you!

After doing a 20-page research paper on Piracy and Digital Freedoms, it really scares the ***** out of me how much power corporations have right now.

If Google or another search engine offered ways to transfer files back and forth through their site, then you would have a point. But they don't, so you don't. There may be bullying going on, but it doesn't change whether or not their service was knowingly used by thieves.
Google had Torrentspy search able, just like Torrentspy had torrents search able.
If you consider this the justice of the system the Google is just as guilty as Torrentspy.

Thats a rather hefty fine. A little over the top I think,
post #35 of 86
I think any fine is ridiculous. Torrentspy was merely performing the same action as google, which can also provide torrent links.

One problem; Torrents are not illegal data whatsoever. They are simply links to other computers to download information dictated by the Torrents.

Why sir, I said sir! I do believe you are wrong!

Time to sue Google I think, as it too points you in the direction of torrent content. Do a little test if you do not believe me. Try doing the following. Figure out a name of something you would like to download. For example, Windows Vista. Then go to Google and type that, making sure to append torrent at the end of it. What's that you say? Google is an illegal torrent provider! Whoa!

I guess at least we will have a fair showdown. I'd like to see RIAA/MPAA win that one!

I personally do not care as I do not download anyway, but as this matter goes back to corporate/political greed, in that aspect I do care.

Does torrent spy ever run a tracker???

I thought they merely linked you to other hosts such as isohunt and mini-nova.

No! If you can't grasp the difference between providing a medium to obtian files illegally and giving you information regarding such files then you have no business in this part of the discussion.
