Crysis is like a cracker. When i look at a cracker i can see it in all of its intricate detail (thanks to my eyes). When i eat the cracker it is short and tasteless. Crysis has no art direction. No interesting story. Its a tech demo.

Agreed.

When Crysis launched, I still had my 8800GTX SLi rig and I won't deny the game looked absolutely fantastic. Very photorealistic. For everything it gained in the technical department however, it lost in the story and artistic departments.

When I think about playing Crysis, the first game to come to mind for comparison (I didn't pick up FarCry) is the Halo series. Aliens, power suit, etc. The reason the Halo series is better is because it had a soul and a style. It's the same reason the Half-Life games are better overall. I've said it before: I will gladly bow down to the technical prowess of Crysis but I daresay even Blizzard has better graphics in WoW. As old-school as WoW is, it has an artistic flair that, in some spots, makes you really wish the place was real and you could go there.

As far as physics and collision detection go, I know exactly what some of you are referring to when you say a whole clip won't drop an enemy. I noticed it and a friend of mine tried the demo early on and said the same thing. I very well may be a horrible FPS player but he's actually really good at CS:S so ???

In short, not a bad game by any means. Much more of a technical demonstration that a genuinely good game though.

Agreed, the graphics in Crysis are a joke too. I would rather play TF2 or COD4 all maxed than Crysis.

Crysis' ENGINE is amazing. The game falls short. I fell that within the next few years we should see some major games/mods released for it.

The story was so-so but the ending was the killer. I was pissed because I was just starting to enjoy the damn game. And anyone who said the graphics aren't awesome is blind or has a weak system. Even on Medium they were great!

But crackers are delicious, yet boring to look at.

Wow, look at my system specs. In vista 32bit i could run on medium/high. at 1440x900x32. Ran smooth. Graphics were amazing even only on medium. Dont try to convince people teh graphics weren't great. I do agree about it being very similar to FarCry, thats a dead give in. The idea however for the suit gave me chills. For myself, the only shooting game in the past few years that really got me going is GoW. So for game play in Crysis. AGREED.
