I do agree about it being very similar to FarCry, thats a dead give in. The idea however for the suit gave me chills. For myself, the only shooting game in the past few years that really got me going is GoW. So for game play in Crysis. AGREED.
the suit thing was awesome and I'd love to see it implemented in future games.

"Maximum Armor" then you hear it harden.
"Maximum Speed" then you hear like a turbo or something.
"Maximum Strength" then you hear your muscles pump.
"Cloak Engaged" then you hear it sort of envelope you.

It was awesome.

When I had one 9600GT it played with moderately bad frame rate on HIGH. And since EVGA overclocked the hell out of this edition I can imagine the PNY would have some pretty good trouble on HIGH.
I am now starting to beleive you haven't played the whole thing or only have the demo.

why is it that i have to unload an entire clip to kill 1 peron? yet, blow up a tank with 2-3 grenades?

the game is entertaining, but nothing to write home about.
You have a 9600GT and a 17" monitor... What do you expect?

When I think about playing Crysis, the first game to come to mind for comparison (I didn't pick up FarCry) is the Halo series. Aliens, power suit, etc. The reason the Halo series is better is because it had a soul and a style. It's the same reason the Half-Life games are better overall. I've said it before: I will gladly bow down to the technical prowess of Crysis but I daresay even Blizzard has better graphics in WoW. As old-school as WoW is, it has an artistic flair that, in some spots, makes you really wish the place was real and you could go there.

As far as physics and collision detection go, I know exactly what some of you are referring to when you say a whole clip won't drop an enemy. I noticed it and a friend of mine tried the demo early on and said the same thing. I very well may be a horrible FPS player but he's actually really good at CS:S so ???

In short, not a bad game by any means. Much more of a technical demonstration that a genuinely good game though.
Too true.

I personally enjoyed Crysis a lot, but not surprisingly, I haven't picked the game back up since I beat it. It was very visually impressive, and I loved blowing my friends away by letting them sit in front of a 22 inch screen on very high settings with 5.1 surround sound making it all real..

But I've said in earlier threads, I'm a story player. I'm not a fan of repetitive gameplay just to beat a game. I'm into knowing why I'm beating the game, and having choices etc.

About WoW.. I am always blown away by how intelligent Blizzard is. They gave WoW its own style, and that style is cartoony, sure, but it can be played on almost any computer that was built after 2000. Back when I played WoW religiously, I was so wrapped up in that world, that I was the kind of person who would go in to Scarlet Monastery at lvl 60, just to read all the lore. Amazing and immersive.

Half-Life 2, Mass Effect, WoW... all games that own my face, because they are immersive and story-STRONG.

Again I have to disagree. The engine allows for a lot, but for what it produces, there's no reason to have the system specs required to play it on maximum. When compared on the same levels as what Doom 3's/Quake IV or even Quake 3 engine offered us in comparison to the times, the engine falls terribly short. The engine preloads so much into memory without actually having it there. Instead of utilizing what is there instead of what might be there, the game could save itself in performance. Also coding seems to be an issue. Load times are kind of high. In all honesty the maps need to be reduced in size as well. I'd rather have more loading screens for what I will see rather then what I might. It seems like crysis is in a constant "Catch up" mode trying to improve on itself in the next level then how it did in the previous
