Arctic Freezer Pro 7 on EX38 DS4

Ive got a EX38 DS4 w/ the Arctic Freezer Pro 7, and it doesn't fit right when I have it placed like the manual says for it facing towards the ram. I was just wondering if anyone else has same set as far as mb and hsf, and how they have it positioned. I thought about cutting the little bit of plastic thats pushing against the ram. Would it be ok to have fan set facing towards the video card and having the back to top of case?

I have mine setup like i think you're trying to describe. My case has to top exhaust fans and one rear exhaust fan. I have the heat from the HSF blowing straight up to the two top exhaust fans. and i get better temps that way. I've tried the parallel method, but my temps went up about ~3C-5C. So i like it exhausting straight up. And it should work fine that way.
