HEHEHEHE Bro but It was my teacher that was asking that ? and It was no joke. But I had a pole In my class, and no one new any about PC and everone said they never cleaned there PC some have had It for 6 or more years. Sadding tho

Here's a lamen's explination for overclocking

Imagine your driving a car. Now we're going the speed limit and our rpm's are steady and everything is hunky dory. Now imagine we want to break the speed limit and go faster. We push the pedal down a bit more, apply a bit more power and the car works harder but preforms better.

In this example the car represents our computer and the speed limit represent our clocks. By applying more power we can raise the clocks but force the computer to work harder.

Now we decide to push it, we floor the gas pedal and hold it there. Well our engine explodes and leaves the car through the hood in a glorious display of flame and steam. The same holds for computers (without the flames....usually.) if you push a car or computer to hard your bound to break something.

Thats pretty good but you probly would add differt gas or some mod to the car like on a computer you up the fsb and up the vcore to overclock. Just giving it more gas is just like running a cpu at 100% load.

I wouldnt say "forcing" or "manipulating", I would say "optimizing" the current components.

Essentially that is what we are doing, making them more efficient and optimizing their capabilities.

One must "manipulate" to "optimize" but then there are grey matter areas with the term optimize, for what is optimal to one person is not to another I work with educators and I assure you, his teacher will have an ear full when he spouts my definition

You can believe that. I repair PCs for friends and family. I recently took in a Dell dimension 2350. When I took the cover off I almost dropped. You literally could not see the MOBO. I don't know how it even ran at all. It took me a good 20 minutes with the shop air compressor to clean the thing up and I had to wear a dust mask to do it and take a shower after.
