since im not going to sli right away is this card a good choice?
theres some bad reviews cuz of the heatsink getting in the way of the sli bridge... but if i get another card i can use that as a "Slave".

yeah thats what i mean when i said i'll use it as a "Slave". and the other one (possibly a EVGA or BFG) as a "Master"

but what do you guys think about that card? im planning on adding a fan. dont trust passive heatsinks.

No, it won't. The 9600GT beats the 8800GTS G80 by a fair bit and is only 10% slower than the 8800GT.

I'm not all that convinced buying pre-overclocked cards is so worth it especially when this is coming with an AC aftermarket cooler.
Again, is the cooler a AC Accelero S1?
And is the sticker/tag thing removable?

Well I've had one without any problems. And when SLIed on COD4 it maxes at 60 celcius. But than again my case is HUGE.

Hey if I have any problems I'll be sure to let you know.
