Which method of overclocking is more efficient????

Hello,

Is it more efficient to overclock your video card by flashing the bios OR just stick to Rivatuner to do the job?

How do you flash your GPU bios with the new core/memory settings?

Also, can I use Riva to find the perfect settings and another program to flash the GPU with those settings?

Last questions, what fan speed is suitable for say 40c? 50c? 60c? 70c?

Thanks guys.

Just use rivatuner. Flashing just for clock speed is silly, you only flash to unlock features or in some cases, up the voltage.

I thought after finding the perfect settings, you'd have to flash your bios to make it permanent? If I don't flash my gpu, do I have to boot up my computer with Riva in order to use the new settings?

No, Rivatuner can automatically overclock it on boot.

Yes, set RivaTuner (or EVGA Percision) to start up with Windows.

I only use a BIOS flash for voltage or memory timings. (ie: things RT can't change) No need to flash BIOS for clock speeds.

Just use riva tuner.....flashing may lead to a dead card.

This forum is awesome, thanks for the fast replies guys.

I forgot to mention, I have a xfx 8800gt card. What do you guys think about Coolbits? Is coolbits more efficient since it unlocks the overclocking tap in nVidia?

Nope, RivaTuner is the best by far IMO.
