PS3 is a good option if you want a more media centre type device and are really into movies or an exclusive sony title.
PS3, at least with the full backwards compatibility, has the largest library in the history of games, except maybe the GBA, I'm not positive. Community size and online, yes, but you have to pay extra for that every year. XBox Live was a lot of fun, but once I started playing PC games online, it just seemed silly to pay for any online, MMO or otherwise. And besides that, games like FFXI require additional online fees on top of the Live fee. Granted the Gamerscore system, and most of what the XBox Live system offers, is awesome, but Steam is starting to offer all of that stuff on their PC games for free. Makes me wonder how much longer XBox Live can charge what they charge and succeed, though I don't doubt it will still be around for some time.

You know I never really considered paying for live an issue. The amount per month is negligable at best and I am glad to pay it, I would hate to think what XBL would be if it were free *looks PSN*.

You get what you pay for kids.
I am an avid PC gamer, just got an XBOX 360 last week after putting it off by being snobbish saying that the PC is the premium platform for gaming and also I was thinking about a PS3.

One big thing that pushed me over was Rainbow Six: Vegas, I bought the game for PC so I could do multiplayer because I loved the game, and I get on there to find 5 servers, 2 of which didn't even work. I was little annoyed to say the least. I got it on 360 the following week, boom well over 20 servers at all times and only 1-2 don't work just becuase people are dropping out and making new ones.

I enjoy consoles, always have, I just thought I was elite playing on a PC all the time, when I was really being a tool. It is a hobby I love and still persue, but real gaming started with computers meant to act like consoles(Commodore 64) and after that it just went strictly console. Unless you slanged Ultima back in the 80s, you were on the Famicom, Mega Drive, Masters System, Intellivision, ColecoVision, Atari, and so-on.

As far as a console war? Well, those have always been there. To talk like you are, "above it all" is kind of silly when you still found yourself lowly enough to post in this thread and have an opinion on it. There is no such thing as a perfect console, just the one you like. What was posted here was facts, and I really wish people wouldn't take it personally like it's an insult on your spiritual beliefs. There games kiddies. Go play em.

Guess which console actually gets so hot it's unusable? What player then is the best on the market?

If you are referring to the 360 THEN.....you are probably right, I think I almost burned my hand on the back of it. Meh, get a cooler, they're cheap.

Does it really matter who "wins" this generation, or any generation for that matter? Honestly, its all personal opinion. Each console has its own strengths and weaknesses and you should get whatever console fits your gaming needs and wants the best. As long as you are satisfied with what you got, does it really matter what console anyone else got? The whole console war thing is a bunch of bull and does nothing but make the fanboys look retarted, which is what they are. If you are a fanboy of one console, then you aren't a true gamer because you are missing out on great games on other consoles because you think your console is "teh uber pwnage". Buy the console(s) that you want, shut your mouth, and enjoy the games.

Already been said many times before. While you are right, saying it again isn't going to make people suddenly see the light. Just let people bicker over it, if it entertains them through the slow parts of their lives, let them have at it.

10 year cycle eh? The graphics already start to seem outdated, let alone in the next 10 years lol.

Ok sure the 360 doesnt have a blu-ray drive but specualtions and rumors aswell as evidence has arrison the the 360 is actually going to be manufacutred with an internal yes that INTERNAL BLU RAY DRIVE!!!

this will be released but a date has not been confirmed. no to also mention that backwark compatability is good while the PS3 tend to only emulate PS2 and PSX unless you have a 60Gb version. Okay sure some of the games have better graphics but come on. When i first held the PS3 controller it felt like a toy not to also mention the cheap looking jewel that was in the centre.

The PS3 is oversized, gets hot, updates take a life time and the blu-ray player isnt even the best on the market its just the cheapest that comes with a console. sont could have done more and i think that the only way they will win this so called "CONSOLE WAR" is if they actually decide to realease the PS3 SLIM but even then how much is it goin to be priced at. i know the tag isn't going to be small.

Halo 3 sales still out do any other game that was sold. i rememeber when that game came out it was sold out in all the stores in a 8Km radius from me with in like 5 hours.

PS have lost all thier titles to other consoles i.e. Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid (RUMOR) and a few other including the infamous TEKKEN. Sony talk big but tell you the truth they dont really have anything on their side except Final Fantasy.

But you never know it might just say on the advert available on XBOX 360 (RUMOR)
Seriously I dont understand what you are going on about.

Wow the 360 is getting blu-ray......so what, all the games that have came out since release arent on blu-ray, and when blu-ray games come out.......they will cost more. So why in the world do people think its a good thing?

Also the fact that nobody is going to buy another 360 jsut for blu ray........and because most of the target market already have one, they wont sell many, only fools would buy it.

Graphics dont improve, theres just more space, it may read quicker im not too sure tbh.

Why is it a 'war' cant you just get the one you like best and that be the end of it.

NO ONE will win the 'war' as most of this is opinion based, so it will always be bias to the review as to which one he/she likes best, just get your 360...your ps3....or even both like me........enjoy the games and just have fun playing them online with your friends, who cares if its through live or PS3's own system........at the end of the day your still interacting with other people, playing the game, so why does it matter what features there are on either console?

You do buy a game to play it online.....not to drool over Xbox Live.

Rant over. =)

Also, I would like to see out of the 13 million people who bought PS3's......how many of them swapped the 360 for it.......and how many people now have both.....because as I see it both the 360 and the xbox are level pegging in sales with relation to who actually liked them, and didnt swap them for the other console.

Sony havnt 'lost' their games to other consoles, they jsut arent exclusive, the ps3 still has them, and in most cases it runs better on the playstation 3 as it was originally made for it.

It may be hard to understand for some.

P.S: The PS3 runs hot........LOL comapred to the 360, some people needed to repair their 360's because they had fried/melted components.
