F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate Issues

I recently installed and started playing the game. I am very disappointed in the complexity of the environments (they are nowhere near as extensive as the previous two renditions of the game), but I can deal with that as long as there are baddies I can kill in slow motion. My real problem lies with the audio issues I am having... The audio cuts in and out, particularly when shooting, and I don't have access to the Creative audio acceleration that I should with this game. Does anyone else have these issues or know about them? I looked for a patch online but did not find one.

if it fades in and out during intense action it could be that the game (or windows) is set up for a surround sound system, so when something happens behind you or you spin round then the sound goes to the back speakers (which aren't there). I had this problem for ages, before i figured it out. Almost RMAd a sound card too. This used to happen with gunfire when i was leaning in COD too.

If it just cuts in and out without fading...then i don't know.

My sound card is set to 2.1, so unfortunately that isn't the problem... Thanks for the help, though!

Installing the newest drivers fixed most of the sound issues, and apparently you have to be in "Game Mode" to have the X-Fi HD effects enabled so both of my issues are resolved.

Just FYI.
