This ASUS (ASrock is part of ASUS fyi) board lost an Ethernet port after about 4 months, And one of mine had a dead IDE controller after 6 months, and one just stopped working after 3 weeks.

Either I've got bad luck with ASUS, or their boards suck.
Asus and Asrock have their boards manufactured by different companies. Just because they are of the same company doesn't mean they are of the same quality. Take the Ultra X-2 and X-3 series, the X-2's suck compared to the X-3's.

Price tag? I'd suspect around 400$ considering the way asus is working the market.

Ahh, ok then, But still, its odd that I've had at least one from both companys that has died very fast...

I may try one of these, and if it dies then no more ASUS for me.

Almost all motherboards are manufactured by different subdivisions of Foxconn. Some of the really cheap boards, like the ones used in Dell and HP, are made by other companies in China and such, then re branded as Asus.
