That is just one review that claims it. I believe CD had tried a 480GTX and was unimpressed by it. Maybe we can ask him to test it out for us?

The GTS is good but at the same price as the 320-QP, why would you ever buy it?

I would imagine size limitations (of the mounting location) would be a reason.

As for the GTX, like with any thick radiator out there, you need some high pressure fans and/or fans in push/pull for it to be really effective. If you want to stick low speed fans in a rad, you're better off with the thiner rads like the GTS, or just get the biggest on you can.

One review. but a pretty good one.....Martin is supposed to be testing one when he has a chance...

These are simple tests but it works real good for me..Its not as restrictive as a BIX, and a BIX isn't restrictive at all...

..Part 1- Temp's with and with-out shrouds

..480GTX Heat Load Test

I wouldn't really want a Swifty or a GTS, they are both single row rads...I've had a Swifty and I liked my BIP better then it with higher cfm fans...I just bought a GTS from a guy to see if its as restrictive as they say, and from my high tech blow through the rad test it is....

The BIX is a lot better rad with a little higher cfm fans and in the same price range..The Swifty or BIP would be better with ultra low cfm fans -60cfm...

I liked my swifty a lot better than the BIX as I cannot stand loud noise.

Yeah a Swifty is good for real low cfm fans, its still just a single row rad, its not a high performance rad at all... I've just always used medium cfm and higher 86+...I think I'll set up a GPU loop and try that 240 GTS that I have on it and see how it does, I have a 240 BIX I can put on it later if the GTS packs up with dust to bad, I bet it will with since it has 30 FPI...That thing is really hard to blow through, I have an old orange impeller 18W DDC to use with it so that wont be a problem with a single block loop...

Here is my long list of radiators that I have owned:
1. D-Tek Single Heatercore - Overloaded by 4.5Ghz Pentium D 930
2. Bonneville 77' Dual Heatercore - Way too ugly
3. HWLabs Black Ice Pro 240 - Temperatures were still too high for tastes
4. HWLabs Black Ice BIX 240 - Was too loud for tastes
5. HWLabs Black Ice GTS 240 - Choked when I added an X1800XT 512MB
6. Swiftech MCR-240-QP - Flow rate improved but temperatures did not
7. Swiftech MCR-240-QP + Black Ice Pro 120 - Temperatures improved but still could not push OC high enough
8. Swiftech MCR-320-QP - Temperatures improved as well as flow rate, but still a bit too high
9. Swiftech MCR-320-QP + Black Ice Pro 120 - Temperatures improved even more, but now motherboard components were getting too hot from lack of airflow across motherboard
10. HWLabs Black Ice GTX 480 - So far so good with 6x S-Flex E fans running at 7v

Why was the 240 GTX to loud? You can run low cfm fans on it...I've had all those but the 320 Swifty.. I've had a 120 BIX and 240 BIX also...I haven't tried the 240 GTS yet...

EDIT: The one at D-Tek is a 1986 Chevette core, I really like those little things, a real good rad fro $20 bux...

Not GTX, I meant BIX hehe I had a scratched up BIX 240 after the BIP 240 that I restored with a toothpick and metallic black paint. Going from GTX to GTS would be seriously stupid LOL only bought the GTX 480 because I got it for 87 shipped

i sell the 320-qp's due to their great flow rates relative to the GTS.. however i might go back to selling the GTS's as their shipping weight is less which is important when you live in NZ

Yeah they need good fans, the 86 Pana are pretty good on them but the 115's are better...For the $$$ I think the BIX was my favorite, I don't mind the louder fans...

My 480 can kill some heat Man...I have 8-100+ cfm fans in a push-pull on it with shrouds and I get around a 2.5C rad out to ambient delta with them, thats with 550+W on it...Thats just sick...
