Does said program harvest behavioral information
e.g My internet activities, hours playing their games etc.
It feels invasive having something running that you have no idea
what it's getting upto.
I agree 100%, from a security standpoint it's a nightmare. Just one more piece of exploitable crap on my PC. I always end up buying a game and then cracking it just to play without DRM. EA is wasting development, time and money doing this. There will never be an uncrackable game and there never has been. PERIOD

What kills off more potential buyers than a SecuROM detection that will kill your install cycle within 3 uses? If not the piracy of games, then I would attribute a majority of it to crackpot concepts like these. I mean, it should have more flexibility than 3 times.

Boo to EA Games. If it weren't for their solid distribution tactics, I'd forsake their company entirely for their gaming profiteering and development.

This is like renting the game. It will only work when they want it to work. If the servers go down no more playing.

If I buy a game I expect to be able to play it when I want where I want. I'm playing games that are 10 years old. What will happen with these "protected" games in 10 years when the authentication servers are no longer running?

These are sad times for legitimate users.

This is ridiculous. I don't see the point of paying money for the "privilege" of being treated like a criminal. Needless to say I don't want anything to do with this game. The other thing that pisses me off is they are most likely going to use the same copy protection for Spore. I was really looking forward to that title too........

I don't mind if I don't have to use the CD.

I can guarantee this will cost EA more than they would make if all the pirates brought the game.
