Actually it will hurt me and I do not pirate. I format my system at least 3 times a year. So I would only be able to use this for a year before I would have to buy a new one? Thats kind of lame. That is not including the system rebuild that I do without fail once a year. I do not mind the authentication but I can see how that would be very inconvenient for some. I do mind however having an install limit. That just seems like way too much.

Wow 3 installs... W T F are they thinking???

I run a pair of Raided 36 gig Raptors and space is a issue, and I can't install a ton of games at once. Yes I could spend $300 on a pair of 150 gig raptors, but don't need or want to. I mainly have steam with all its games and then a few other new titles. Since my sig rig is ONLY used for gaming this system of games installed works great for me. I may uninstall a title to load another, then a week or 2 later want to reinstall a title to play it again.

now for certain i'm not going to be buying EA, probably ever again...

First, they overhype and undersupport their games (Kane's Wrath, Crysis anyone) and just milk money from consumers, and now this. I don't care what they think - there are people and places without internet access or slow internet access, adn such users should ot be punished for wanting to play a game - online activation prior to install is okay, IMO, but why have to activate every 10 days for a title that isn't even an online title? what of the people whose rigs are not connected to the net for whatever reason .

Excessive DRM like this is what is killing the PC gaming market, and i guarantee it will taint their name, and convince otherwise legit people to pirate their games simply for the fact that the pirated methods - you would think EA would have taken a note of the mess with Bioshock's activation business, but no.

Furthermore, the EA store is useless - why can i not back up a game that i own and paid for, and why must i pay to redownload it when i already bought it? Not to mention their forum system is utterly buggy and useless, and i won't even bother mentioning what happened with the RA3 Beta Key business.

Never again, EA - Steam FTW.

The last three EA games I've bought have been poorly written, unfinished, unoptimized pc port from console pieces of garbage. I've been finished with EA since they robbed me of $50 for MOH Airborne.

At least they TELL people and don't slyly insert it into their 5 million paragraph EULA.

I bet you the "Requires Internet activation to play" will be written in small letters on the back of the box in a corner and the 10 day reactivation and 3 installs limitation won't even be mentioned.

So... umm, EA.... going in the toilet. They ruined the NFS (pro street) series for me. Now this! Not to mention skill stick in NHL without the option to use basic controls effectively. Man, this just totally made me stick the Atari and Microsoft games. Maybe someday i will find faith in good old EA again, but til then, I'm going to have to say that all 11 titles of NFS, every year of NHL, every sims game and expansions, not to mention the command and conquer series, i've purchased will remain parked/paused/uninstalled/dust collectors from this point til they've changed their mind. ANTI-EA for me!
