my buddy is having troubles overclocking his e6750
hes got a nvidia 680I motherboard
he was trying to do it from the bios
and he got an error on bootup and his computer locked up with just 10 mhz raise on the fsb

You need to give us more info on what he did.

What version of the the 680i (there have been some revisions)

Also which bios, voltages etc.

ah sorry
bios is phoenix labs.. unsure version right now..
and its the 650i ultra sorry he told me wrong
unsure of revision couldn't find it on the mobo
and he just went into bios and changed the fsb from
1333 to 1340
his multiplier is at x11 for cpu

Tell him to lower the multiplier setting to x8 as that is the E6750's highest default multplier. Trying to put the mulplier of a CPU at a setting that the CPU doesn't support is interupting the POST process.

That would mean that the stock clock for the CPU would be 3.66GHz, which is not the stock of an e6750. Its 333x8, so Im not sure where you're getting 11 from.
