hmm wondered how you pulled away from me again.

this is great, folding for 37726 AND the cause!

folding on ATI cards is one of the main reasons why i am considering them for my next upgrade. I play games less and less and they are alot cheaper than nvidia.

keep up the folding!

Has anyone gotten the 4712 WU for the GPU2? I believe it is 592 points. Here are my times for it:

If this isn't the place to ask, then I'm sorry. I've been thinking about folding when I upgrade to Ultimate 64-bit, but I have reservations about doing it with my CPU.

I don't really game with my PC, but I do a lot of multitasking. If I started folding with my 3870, would I notice a difference with using Ultimate 64-bit, such as the Aero interface? Would I have to dumb-down the graphics, or could the card fold and let me see what I want to see?

The reason I say this is because I feel more comfortable having my GPU do the extra work than my CPU. I'd really like to start folding, though

Vista takes more resources but if you go to 64bit you should see and improvement in some areas. To answers the question, my 3870 folds fine in vista 64. I had XP64 before but was not GPU folding. I did see a few second loss in my times for CPU WUs but it was minimal.

Thank you for the answer. Pardon my ignorance of folding - but can I turn it "off" if I need to game, or do something graphics-intensive like watching a DVD movie on my PC, or could the card handle folding and watching a DVD?

the folding client scales back when needed so if you need the GPU for gaming the client will ease off

The HD3870 should have a dedicated chip for reproducing DVDs, so you'll be fine.
