Sound Lag?

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I just recently noticed some "lag" when i listen to music on my computer. What happens is, the song will play normally and then randomly it will literally lag and slow everything else down and wait for itself to catch up and then goes back to normal.

Any help would be great

Looks like your Realtek onboard sound is the problem. One of the problems with onboard is that it uses your processor to create the sound. A dedicated sound card takes this burden off of your processor and would most likely fix the problem, not to mention it would drastically improve the sound quality.

It could also be a driver problem, you should check Realtek's website for an update. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response! At any rate, I updated drivers for the audio and it didn't affect it in any way, so i grabbed an old Audigy card and tossed it in the rig that was having problems Thanks again.
