Considering that I will have spent over $2000 on computer components in less than a year before long, and just got a raise from minimum wage and am only working part time, i'd say that it isn't unreasonable, it's all about how much disposable income you have.

Thank you all for advice!

No, this is not a Christmas present, I'll definitely buy it,
the question is: when?

OK, this rig is gonna be water cooled.

Is there really so much difference between 15k SAS and 10k SATA?
I have heard that RAID works better with SATA.

I agree that it would be smart to wait for 9900's.

I want definitely 8GB of RAM, because this system won't be only used for gaming lol.
So, please don't offer 1GB memories.

Also, I would wait until the 9900 series comes out. That's only about two months.

Oh, and what case?
I think I'll go for this:

RAID better with SATA? I don't think so

SAS is where the fun is. Oh, but do get some earplugs... those 15k drives sound like little jet engines.

If you want the BEST, you'd have to go 15k SAS.

Two of these:
Fujitsu MBA3300RC 300GB 15000 RPM Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drive - OEM
And a controller card like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16816151023

It's about $1,600 for the hard drives and controller card, but heck, you said you wanted the best
That's right!

Don't you think 1500W Thermaltake would be more powerful?

you don't need 1500W. And I'd go for quality over quantity in this case.

Don't get me wrong... the Thermaltake is a great PSU. I just think the Silverstone is a hair better... Those Zeus's are beasts.

And 95A on a 12V rail is enough for anything.

You're not even going to get close to max that out. And if you do... you'll have to rewire your home first to begin with (1200W DC @ 80% efficiency results in a power draw from the wall socket of 1500W.... ouch)

Lol. That's one problem.
I chose LCS cause I don't want much noise.
SAS would be good but it's not that much better than 2 x Velociraptors.
And by the way, like you said, they make much noise.
