I'm very happy with my current rig, even if I can only get the 9850 stable to 2.8 ghz (hoping Asus gets a us a new bios soon). But even at that clock speed I have noticed that it still kicks butt on many chips that clock a lot higher.

Yes the main issue is the support that asus is giving to this board.

WARNING: AMD USER IS VOICING HIS OPINION, HIT THE DECK!

Anyways, Unless your a HUGE computer enthusiast who just NEEDS 3.4 Ghz+ on a quad, i really don't see a reason to switch.

I really don't need anything better then i have, so thats why i stay with AMD

I agree with him, as this is the reason i've not updated to a quad core or a newer gpu.

What I have does what I want fine so I'm not spending the $$ for the quad or a 8800 GT(s)

whoops, DP
I don't look for it, but when I see it, I a) automatically correct it in my head, or since this one was mentioned prior to my reading b) Get really annoyed by it if it's not their fault (i.e. ESL, dyslexia).

If it's just because you were typing fast or didn't feel like reading it again, to some of us that is really frustrating.

Back on topic, though. I'd say go intel.

make that move. intel wont disappoint. ive been in that situation before and i jumped to intel. for me when it comes to pricetag AMD wins but in performance, Intel owns the crown.

jumped from my previous 5600+590sli=300mhz gain (so weak) to q6600+p35=1.2Ghz gain and im satisfied.

Intel is a great performer, full support from board/chipset maker that makes Intel performs better than AMD.
