eVGA 680i SLI

Thread Starter
I've got a bit of a problem. I've got the eVGA 680i SLI A1 mainboard, as shown in my signature, and since a while I've got a problem with BIOS resets.

Whenever I take the power cord out of my PSU, or I turn of the power to my computer, I have to setup the BIOS again on the next power up. I always thought that the battery was supposed to make sure I didn't have to do this, but placing a new battery still gives the same problem.

Is there a fix for this problem, or could it be a bad connection from the battery to the mainboard?

sounds like a bad connection, or bad luck with batteries.

***Noob moment*** Verify that you are using CR2032 batteries

Now that thats out of the way, look at the contacts on the battery and on the mainboard battery recepticle. If either appear dirty or tarnished for some reason, clean with rubbing alcohol if possible but be sure not to short any traces.. just put some on a Qtip and gently cleanse the effected areas. If you notice that its kinda down, and/or that the battery doesnt clip in properly, try gently bending the clips inward until you are sure they will make nice contact.
