$300 or less build (first time builder) - Page 2

wow, thanks for all the help

the cpu combo that i bought comes with the fan/heatsink

i dont know what to get anymore lol...
i might go with that cpu/mb combo captain han suggested since that cpu overclocks better than the E2200 (from what i read, correct me if im wrong) i dont plan on upgrading any fans or anything
and get that other cruicial ram + sata dvd burner you guys suggested

if i go with the 8800gt 512mb will that be more future proof (newer games) than the 8800GS/9600gt even if i dont go with a monitor bigger than 19in? or am i just wasting money?

i dont mind going a little bit over $300, i just wanted to stay as close to or below $300
after the build i dont plan on upgrading anything after that, ill just build a new computer 3-4 years later

oh and i do plan on overclocking cpu/vid card, im not going for any crazy speeds, just somethin safe

go with mine for the best price/performance. the ecs board is complete garbage and you cannot overclock it. the cpu will endup bottlenecking the 8800gt.

btw i made an error for the pricing the dvd burner is $22.99, your total after rebate is $291.95

Great choices, you'll be very happy with that build.

For that price it's a very good deal. He doesn't play any games that need the 512MB anyway, why spend $50 more now for a feature he doesn't need? When he does need it, there will be video cards out that put the 8800GT 512MB to shame, and his $50 saved today will help him upgrade to that better card later when it's needed.
