my preggo wife is crying need some help with new cam - Page 3

Make sure you're in macro mode (the little flower thing), and if you hit it twice, I think that's super-macro, at least for mine it is...

BTW, what do you need adapters for?

no native way to attach directly on the end of the lens and instead on the main body behind the extended lens there is either a clip style (bayonette? I believe it's called) or screw style piece to put an adaptor body on like such
without that no lenses, filters or anything.

found the macro mode and it works fairly well. little interesting time trying to get it to focus sometimes though but it does work and works well. your right though once for normal hold for super right on the front by the lens assembly

bad part about the cam is we already have a good smudge on it that doesn't seem to want to come off very easily with a cotton ball so I'm hoping these filters come here soon.

last question is any place to help you with learning the camera and taking better pictures that my wife could read up on?
G9 optical zoom lack? Um... I find it has PLENTY range... and goes nice and wide (7.4-44.4mm...) If I need more, I can just take photos at 12 Mp and do "digital zoom" on my computer.

Smudges: COTTON BALL? Noo... Buy a microfiber cloth! I have like 3... Use em ALL the time!

I might be able to do so. one other quick question if you might know. with an IR filter can you use it in pure dark or does it only have daylight use only?

didn't think of using the digital zoom. and with the what was it 12mp i would think it should be able to work ok with that. way to give a guy buyers remorse

have some microfiber comming by mail (haven't seen any locally or would of bought it that way instead) and cotton was the only thing we had available. tried to take it nice and easy wiping rather then pressing. wouldn't come off so I'm assuming it is a good finger smudge or other oily based product.

thanks for the info though

well not a whole lot of pictures yet as a lot of it has just been fooling around so far so to speak.

http://rx7speed.no-ip.org/ourphoto
at least I hope this link works.

I know some of the pictures are a little iffy though but a lot of these are when she first started using it and just trying to get used to it so colors might be off, focus was easily off and sometimes not even on the right thing but hey it's all a learning game from here. well that and some are my just goofing off.

thank you again though guys
and btw any comments critism and help would be welcome and these will be updated as time goes on.

Not horrible, but you've got lots to learn!

Now, when posting your images to the web, you should resize them so I don't have to sit and wait for the full image to load. When posting, I usually edit them to be 1024 pixels on the longest side.

see that's my one downfall, I don't have any programs to resize them. When she does it they end up getting aliased badly. that and also with this all being fed by my DSL line I'm sure isn't helping matters any.

I know they aren't very great though but she hasn't really used "fancy" camera's before and so all the options are kind of throwing us for a loop. But don't worry you can throw us some criticism as long as you have some help there. hell you can tell us they flat out suck and we won't get offended

a lot of duplicates of the same stuff and some sadly quite a shot from a moving car as the place we were at we couldn't stop. that mixed with lack of experience isn't helping anyway

http://rx7speed.no-ip.org/ourphoto2

any pointers good sir as I'm sure you know WAY more then either of us do and as I said don't be afraid to throw down the gauntlet there.

EDIT: looks like the program that makes the photo album can resize them. thanks for giving me the heads up to look for that.

Congrats and good luck. I feel for you, I really do! Just be prepared- you think this is bad, post-partum can be really bad......I'm about to lose it myself.....20 hours sleep since last friday......my wife is crazy hormonal and losing it (and she was awesome in pregnancy and birth)....... Just one more hour of daddy-duty and I can sleep. Grandma promised she'd help Mom out and let dad get a full 8 hours in.

OT: I bought the JVC Everio GZ-HD07. Spendy for sure, but I'm really happy with it, wife too.
