Folding question - Page 2

Did you tell them what your computer is doing? Maybe if they understand it they will let you run it 24/7. Besides, a celeron should cost like $5 a month to run.

I'm actually a bit worried about the temps affecting it if I run it 24/7

It's a prescott Celeron and it runs really hot...a bit over 50 degrees (About 46 degrees at stock)

Since the Thread is titled "Folding Question" I'll aske here:

I have read and somewhat understand all the FAQs about HT, and Multi Cores and what not and want to make sure I have this right since most of the FAQs are dated from 2005/2006, so...

I have an AMD Dual Core X2 running SMP Client under windows. In the task manager I see that the CPU load is at 100%, so I guess what I want to know is if one instance of the Windows SMP Client is all I need even for my processor, or is it more productive to run two instances.

I want to score more, but I don't want to slow the WU process. Any help for a noob folder please.

@sLowEnd what client are you running?

Can't you use the pause function over night and continue at that point the next day?

I have another question. Don't know if this is a problem, but before anyone asks I did turn off Windows Firewall.

I get this message so often between steps:

+ Attempting to send results
Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
+ Could not connect to Work Server (results)
(171.64.122.76:8080)
Could not transmit unit 01 to Collection server; keeping in queue.

Does anyone know what it mean exactly and how to fix it? It seems to me like a firewall problem, but I turned it off, and it still shows this every so often.

It means it cant send the results...Check to make sure the router has port 8080 open and that windows firewall isnt blocking it.
