Realtek ALC883--Need Help Setting Audio Up.

My motherboard has this Realtek ALC883 audio chipset. I have never gotten it to work and I have flashed BIOS and downloaded the latest drivers from RealTek's site.. My old Soundblaster Live! 5.1 card works just fine, but I'd prefer to free up a PCI slot.

The speakers I am using are Boston Accoustics BA7500. I got them with an old Gateway system years ago and have been impressed enough with them to keep them. The subwoofer acts as the controller of the two desktop speakers. The two speakers plug into the back of the sub, then the sub has a single wire output that plugs into a standard soundcard audio port.

OK, here's where I THINK my problem is. The subwoofer's output into the soundcard is DIGITAL, not analog. On my Soundblaster card, my sound wouldn't work until I turned on "Digital output" in my Soundblaster's software.

However in the Realtek software there is no option to turn on digital input through the standard audio ports. (Or am I missing such an option?) It does support digital but only through digital ports that my speakers don't have. I am wanting digital input through the ANALOG ports. It works on my Soundblaster, will it work through the Realtek?

No sir you are referring to the mini-din cable. It is not available on most onboard solutions. They have only Optical and Coaxial outs(For SPDIF (Digital) outs). Still cant be sure though.....
