What Is The Best Motherboard To Overclock Q6600 Go To 4ghz?

Thread Starter
I Am Currently An Foxconn X38a Mobo User
But Sad To Say That My Mobo Is Not Geared To Overclocking.

My Highest So Far Is Only 3.7ghz.

Any Suggestion?

What Is The Best Mobo With Ddr2 Memory For Overclocking Q6600 Go (lapped) Towards 4ghz?

Thanks

I second that.

Then you should look for a board which have CPU GTL Reference option, with CPU GTL Referens you can alter your CPU GTL Reference for each core to get it stable.

Usually your core volt get high to stabilize quad at high FSB and clockspeed if you don´t have that option, but if you have that option you usually get higher FSB and clockspeed with lower core volt.

Sounds good, doesn´t

Example of board that have that is some DFI P35, X38 and X48.

Here can you read about it.

NONE. hitting 4ghz is rare and you need a very good chip with a very low VID (less than 1.3) and even with that you still probably wont hit it. for 4ghz on a kentsfield, your best bet would be:
Q6700, X48, and a TRUE with lots of fans.
