What Is The Best Motherboard To Overclock Q6600 Go To 4ghz?

I Am Currently An Foxconn X38a Mobo User
But Sad To Say That My Mobo Is Not Geared To Overclocking.

My Highest So Far Is Only 3.7ghz.

Any Suggestion?

What Is The Best Mobo With Ddr2 Memory For Overclocking Q6600 Go (lapped) Towards 4ghz?

Thanks

There's no guarantee that you will get to t0 4.0 on any motherboard,3.7 is really good though. If you were able anyway you'd probably need to watercool.

DFI, Asus, and Gigabytes X38/X48 boards all get high marks in the OC department. I would research each companies boards and decide on what features you want and your target budget. DDR2 versus DDR3 is another consideration. I am finishing my X38 build with the Asus P5E3 deluxe and a q6600, all I need is memory. Good luck on your build.

P.S. Gigabyte's boards tend to be overclocking friendly if your new to it, Asus and DFI tend to offer more options if you have alot of experience, but also give you more options to mess things up.

hmm i am eyeing the asus maximus formula SE and asus rampage formula... what to decide?

i am also eyeing foxconn mars but i am interested with DFI P35 or the newer DFI x48 because of the bios voltage specifically for Quad core CPU. but i am more interested with the asus maximus formula SE because of the cooling option to water cool the NB.

however any experienced overclockers idea would be very much appreciated. thanks

Not geared towards OC'ing!? Most people max out at 3.6 on a Q6600 G0

You are very lucky to get that high. Seriously if your board pushes the CPU that far then i am 99% sure it is not the board limiting your OC. It will be your CPU, it just isn't capable fo anything over 3.7Ghz

Honestly, if you invest in a new board, you may very well be disappointed with the outcome.

Iam looking for a new m/b for my q6600 aswell. After alot of research, if you want a good cheap overclocker you cant go wrong with DFI Lanparty UT P35-T2R, better overclocking than most x48's, can reach higher fsb.
Iam waiting for the 'Foxconn Blackops' its hitting the shelves this month, and is the best of the best heres a good link to explain; http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=187156
it is truly amazing, and is the only x48 board to hit high fsb, check out the link, hope this helps.

3700 is a very good OC on a Q6600, beyond that is not all that common if your air cooling and/or have a freaky good stepping.

The Blackops is an amazing board, my next board too.

The DFI P35/X38 Dark T2RS are great boards at a fairly low price. If you can get your hands on a mars then they are still amazing boards.
