It was made the 22nd week of 2007, so it is almost a year old.

The older ones are better then the new, generally speaking. I am under the impression that the Q6700 price drop has increased the demand for them. So the silicone that was originally binned as the highest grade Q6600, are now being binned to the Q6700.

Be glad you got a chip that will clock really high with low voltages. Personally, I got a chip with a 1.325v VID (the highest that a Q6600 can have), and I need 1.5v, 1.43 after vDroop to keep my Q6600 stable at 3400Mhz (425x8).

I bet you my Q6600 rapes your E8400 at folding.

Edit: Also, why do you think that since your PSU has two 12v rails, or dual channel as you wrongly call it, that the real wattage is found multiplying it's listed wattage by 2? It's real wattage is found by multiplying it's listed wattage by 1.

If that were true my 650w PSU would really be a 1950w because it has 3 12v rails.

Do you honestly believe that or are you trying to get him to sell his Q6600 to you?

I can only speculate. It could have also been the best waffer in the batch, and since they test by waffers, and not individual CPUs, you got one with minimal imperfections in the material. Also the 1.20v VID means the chip is designed to run at the default speed of 2.4GHz with only 1.2v vcore.
