I just bought the 22" hanns G monitor that was on sale at staples. Im using a vga connection now. When i go to settings it shows the refresh rate is at 60hz. How do i know if my lcd can handle a higher refresh rate. And if it can how do i change it. I tried using nvidia control panel and changing it to 70 but then somehow the resolution becomes wak but it says its at 1680x1050

Read the manual.... see what it supports at that resolution. My guess is 60hz max.

go to the display settings.. click on advanced settings...then monitor and change screen refresh rate to 75.. i believe that's the highest it can go.

why do you want a higher refresh rate?? if it works find leave it 60hz.

BTW the monitor really sucks. only been using it for a few months now and dead/stuck pixels everywhere flickers everynow and then. Im in the market for a new monitor. I hope yours wont have the same problems. for the Price and HDCP support i went with it now im stuck with it.
