[techradar] Nvidia: Only Brits care about ATI

No one cares about AMD or its graphics subsidiary ATI anymore. Well, apart from we Brits, that is. Then again, nobody loves rooting for a hapless chump quite like the British, either.

At least, that's what Nvidia spinmeister extraordinaire Roy Taylor reckons. Taylor is actually Nvidia's main man for Content Relations Stateside. But he has been kind enough to hop the pond to provide some insight into Nvidia's plans and prospects.

I like their cards but this is getting ridiculous.

This is actually some pretty valuable information. Their reaction clearly shows that Nvidia is indeed quite worried about the HD4870's release.

Either that or there really is nobody outside of Britain that cares about Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii...

I'll just use this topic to post ANOTHER Nvidia news article from the same news source, and same interview object.. Why couldn't they put all this in a single interview article? What a site..

http://www.techradar.com/news/comput...obscene-364646

Now we've heard Huang say that before, it seems to be on the bullet point list of 'Nvidia weapons of war chest against Intel'. I'll cherrypick more interesting bits, anyone can click the link and read everything..

Quote:
What's more, Taylor says plans to support the recently acquired PhysX physics-simulation engine on Nvidia's GPUs are also nearing launch. Before the end of May, a total of eight games with GPU-based PhysX are due to announced. 30 to 40 such titles will be available this time next year.
Did they misinterpret him? Did I misread the whole thing? Are they seriously saying that the GPU-based PhysX will not be backwards compatible with a single PhysX game? There are over 100 games out there that support PhysX. I was expecting this to support those.. So much for that. I guess the AGEIA PPU was something special after all.
