[TT] ASUS R.O.G. P45 motherboard pictures

Thread Starter
I noticed this is kind of a repost, but there are better pics.

There's been a fair chunk of info and images floating about recently in reference to Intel's next big chipset to hit the market, that being P45. You would have seen our exclusive Gigabyte Spring Break coverage a couple days ago which showed off some P45 related goodness, and there's been several sightings in the way of upcoming P45 boards from various vendors recently as well.

The cream of the crop however comes in the form of this ASUS R.O.G. series Maximus II Formula motherboard, sighted over at HARDSPELL earlier today. The pictures well and truely speak for themselves as to just how serious this motherboard is, with bells and whistles to keep the most feature-hungry enthusiasts' expectations fullfilled.

That's just sexah as hell.

I hope they tightened the NB cooler screws better than my current Maximus I Formula's though ...

PSA: If you own a Maximus Formula (series I) and are using the stock NB heatsink; go now with your phillips head screwdriver and tighten the lock down screws!

Mine weren't even close to being tightened. Dropped my NB temps a couple degrees by tightening them.

Marin, Hey buddy.
Your Source Link is broken!
And The hardSpell link IS in the Original Thread

So, No, there aren't better Pics!
and as already clarified;
Hardspell isn't even the proper source for the Pictures!
See Original Thread With an explanation of the picture sources. Here:

And The 14 page High quality Picture-Gallery from ComputerBase.de (German)
That seems to be the source of all the posted pictures!

But don't sweat it bro!
ALL the forums are linking to the Hardspell site, and now those same three pics are everywhere) ( which is hilarious- when you can clearly see the PCGames.de logounderneath Hardspell)
They must be Pissed!

Yep, Two removable BIOS chips for "dual" BIOS (ala gigabyte)!

Some assorted MIIF Info from teh e-rumour mill at all the other forums!
(Snuck over while OCN was down)

Culled from XS, TpU, neoWin, computerbase.de, hardwareinfo, and even "the one who's name we dare not type":

Quote:
Dual BIOS tough Gigabyte should have it in their P45 line too) make it safe for flashing without problem. With 1 BIOS, if you fail the flashing you brick the mobo (unless it's a removable chip, then you can get a new one from ASUS), having two chips that are actually removable make impossible to brick your mobo.
(sic)

Quote:
The extra large mongo heatsink is most likely concealing more than just the ICH10R- possibly a PCI-e channel chip like on the ME, So even though It's a P45 x8, x8 board we may still get to see x16, x16:
Quote:
I don't think 2x PCI-E 16x is even possible on the P45 is it? At best, they could provide a more even 2x PCI-E 2.0 8x, instead of the more standard 16x/4x split. Whatever's under that giant SB heatsink is probably similar to what the Maximus Extreme uses to to split the second and third PCI-E slots....
Quote:
... Well, other manufacturers are using IDT PCIe switch chips to get two x16's on their boards, although even if it is two x8's, as its PCIe 2.0, its equivalent to a pair of x16's in PCIe 1.1 mode...
Quote:
...Look at how large the heatsink is that covers the southbridge, and the position of it - too large for just the ICH10R, there has to be something else under there!
