Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I hope to build a PC with these specs, or similar this summer. I am starting my own PC business and am hoping to get a bit of money together to build this "work" PC

The specs are:

Q9450 2.66Ghz Quad
EVGA 790i Mobo
9800GX2 SLi or 9900GTX SLi
4GB DDR3 PC10666
2x Western Digital VelociRaptors 300GB in RAID 0
2x Seagate Barracuda 500GB in RAID 0 and another 2x Seagate Barracuda 500GB in RAID 0

What you guys think??

What cooling? Water or Air? I would probably go with 9900 if you have the money since 8800ultras supposedly outdo the 9800.
Good luck with the PC services. I do that as a side job and it works quite well. My favorite is the 'set up the router in 15 min' for $100

Air cooling at first...I will go Tri-Sli with the 9900 GTX if its at a price comparable to the 9800 GTX...if not I may go dual sli, or tri sli 9900 GTS

I'm in Ireland, so no new egg. Thats pretty much the best I can get for the price here in Ireland. Hopefully by the time I'm buying DDR3 will be cheaper here

Yeah, It's alot of hard work just drafting up a business plan, cash flow forecasts etc. But I hope it works out for me, computers are my life well, after my girlfriend that is (just incase she reads this )

I was thinking the Coolermaster Real Power 1000W, it seems to be SLi certified for the 9800GX2. Will hopefully be "futureproof", at least for a year or two. The way things are looking anyway, in a year or two, ethusiast PSU's will only be 300w, with all this "Greens PC" thing happening at the moment.

Do you guys think that the 9900GTX will provide a substantial increase in performance over the 9800GX2?? and also, whats the performance increase with DDR3 compared to DDR2?? I could easily get 8GB DDR2 for a good bit less than 4GB DDR3.
