Using WC loop to heat water for water heater - Page 3

Just make sure that you use extra thin copper pipes for the coil inside and this should work very well. Oh, and try and make the coil take up as much space as possible while still allowing water flow, not small and dinky like this drawing.




Edit: I forgot to mention, this would solve all the problems of integrating tap water into your computer cooling. No corrosion in your loop because of tap water, very good surface area to transfer heat between the two systems, and it would probably keep your CPU even cooler than a regular rad.

That would work. I've used tap water before and it corrodes the HELL out of the waterblock.

Can you remove the mesh of a rad so that there is only the little pipes, and dunk the rad into a small tub connected to the tap water? Also spraying the rad with some anti-everything so that it doesn't contaminate your water and kill your family

I like the pic. Thats what Im starting to think will work.
