Running Multiple Clients

Thread Starter
I've just started to fold and downloaded the CPU client then I wanted better performance and downloaded the SMP Client. I am running both so I am wondering if this is okay?

Also I wanted to run two CPU Clients at once, but it wouldn't let me after installing it into a differant directory from the other. I was given a message that only one program can be run at a time.

so I went to install the SMP Cleint again after installing it and not using it the first time around, and it asked if I wanted to uninstall the old installation first. I click yes and it uninstalled, and restarted windows, and when windows loaded up the CPU client (not the SMP Client) pops open the config window with the team number feild empty.

Basically I had the CPU Client installed first and uninstalling the SMP client just to re-install it messed up the CPU client progress somehow, and I had to re-enter my team number. when I opened the display window it had started all over again on my first WU. I was at 87/150. Needless to say I was very pissed.

you can run dual instances of the smp program, but you need a quad for that. other than that, your best bet is to run one instance of smp with a duo.
