Edit: those voltages are DMM verified under load.

Used my arcticlean kit and cleaned the heatsink surface and chip. Applied AS5 as instructed, and @ 1.18v load @ 3.16Ghz (450x7), with OCCT, I'm seeing 52/52/47/46 temps. Ambient is about 30C. Is it due to the crap pump, and/or the video card being in line with the pump first before it hits the cpu? Ordered one of my 3870x2's yesterday, should be here by the end of the week and will be running air cooled (crossfire X when I get the other), so no GPU(s) to heat the system. Advice?

I went froman E6600 @ 3.8 to a Q6600 @ 3.6 and while it certainly runs hotter, by no means should the temps have shot through the roof like that.

I say ditch the 2x120mm rad; that triple 120 is more than enough. Also, run Pump -> CPU -> NB -> GPU -> 3x120mm rad. I think that would help you a lot. Certainly the most important thing is flow right now so make sure you have no kinks or overly tight bends and remove as many components as possible.

I only saw that temp @ 1.7v to get 4.02Ghz. Have it runnig 450x7 right now and 1.20 (in bios) voltage (which drops to 1.17-1.18) which runs about 32C idle, 51C load. Still uncomfortable, I really think it's the flow to be honest. No way that 5x120 worth of radiator with 5 110CFM fans is running this hot. Guess we'll see when I get rid of the GTX, and go pump to the CPU.
