Sounds like he has had to wait for them to get another 2900XT to directly replace his, and its now on its way back to him.

No I bet that is not the case. They are extremely slow if you are not on their asses to get moving. Plus the HD 2900XTs have been out of production for what? 1 year at least? I am betting he got a HD 3870 in return.....I would flip if he got a X2 in return.

Actually Fusion is right...the replaced it with a 2900XT...1gb version even. I haven't been able to even find one for sale...thought about going X-fire for a while. But evidentially they had to go to Hong Kong to get it. /shrug

Was kinda hoping I'd get a newer card, but this is at least fair...they didn't try to give me a 3850 or something at least . And I bought the 2900XT last year when they first released the 1gb version, so it's not been out that long. Just the 2900's were kinda disappointing so they released the 3k series pretty quick after that. Though I have to say the 2900 still handled what I threw at it including Crysis...maybe not with all the eye candy, but I've had few issues.

Wow, cool I am really surprised that they didn't do the latter. I stand officially corrected.

As far as I am aware of OverDrive to a certain amout can change voltages. When you run the auto feature and look at the voltages for the card in Everest they do start to change.

Now I may be assuming that this means OverDrive is playing with the voltages but thats what it looks like it happening.
