I tried everything now, I even place thermal grease all over the IHS..
Nothing work for me, may be I should get a MX-2 ..

Yeah. Put some MX-2 on, place heatsink down, turn on PC and temps were lower than the AS5. I loved how simple it was.

I believe you either have to be doing something with the mounting of the sink. Or the ihs or heatsink base is either concave/convex.

what thermal compound are you using now? Can't remember if you said what it was in ur earlier posts.

Make sure you are seating the HS correctly everything is tight and in line with full contact

Hmm...odd. The Zalman stuff isnt terrible, but you shouldn't need to fight this hard with it...

The thermal grease that comes with the 9700NT is a liquid kind of grease, it also come with a brush. So i don't think it have anything to do with thermal grease.


You sure your heatsink is placed correctly? is the wire stuck inside the fin? causing the fan to not spin?

Hi there,

I'm sure I place the heatsink correctly , no wire is stuck and I'm sure the fan is working fine.
I even tried to open up my casing to let the air in. It doesn't change much
I also touch the heatsink and can't feel any heat. I think the problem is the heat cannot pass through to the heatsink =_=
It sound stupid am I ....

thats coz your ambient temp is high.

so what is your ambient temp

and zalman's are mostly plain crap. they dont perform for what is paid.
