9600 GT overclocking results

Thread Starter
I finally purchased a 9600 GT for my test overclocking rig. Id have to say im am quite please with the results. The cards core is stock at 650mhz and the memory was 900mhz. I was able to get the core up to 950mhz and the memory up to 1047mhz stable with NTune on air.I know,I know i shouldnt use software but on my testing rig i dont have any overclocking features so its a last resort thing.

Thank you everyone at OCN for all your help! This was offically my first overclock :-) (baby steps)

its a Nvidia card and i used 3dmark06 to test it. I also played crysis for about an hour afterwords getting about 8 fps more than standard clock.

So I suppose it's stable.

You should still use either Rvidia or ATI tool to overclock a GPU.

Ntune... I had problems keeping the overclock to stick in Ntune (Rvidia has options to load OC profiles on bootup), and ATItool has a GPU stress test.

950mhz? Methinks this is an another reporting error because of an overclocked pciex.

If not I think you would have to have done some serious volt mods to break 900...

true... no way stock would it do that, playing crysis I can get a best of 720 core and 3dmark 06 740 and vantage 750 and anything above 770 I get device failed under vista and with xp it just locks up. ive tried with every driver since the 9600 came out and I own both an xfx and evga card and both act exactly the same way.

950 lets see some 3dmark06 links...
