Thread Starter
I didn't know where to post this so.. anyways I was about to take summer classes for a+ but i believe i can just take the a+ and pass it problem is i don't know how to go about taking it. Can I take the A+ and Network+ exams online Or do i have to go to some special place to take it? any help will be appreciated.
I have Googled but all i get is schools to prepare you, I just want to take the test. Thanks.

You have to go to a testing center.

You have go to testing centers to get the exams taken. I believe the A+ is under CompTIA. so you'll need to go to their website to find a testing center near you. I would offer some advice, but the test has changed so much since i took it. It was all about 98 2000, and dot matrix printers when i took it.

Good luck!

EDIT: AKAeric beat me to it

You have to pay for practice tests, all the free ones are out dated. They've updated the tests, when I took my A+ in '05 there were still questions about 386s and IRQ settings, stuff that doesnt really apply anymore. To be honest, the test was easy. You get a long time to complete it, I was nervous and blew through it in 15 minutes. My teacher thought I had given up and come back to class, lol.

*cringe*

I did my A+/Network+ certs awhile back. I would rather rub sand paper across my face than do it again. Talk about boring!

I am actually currently, enrolled in the A+ and Network+ classes in my school. They are self taught and we just read a book from a disc, and do labs/questions on each section. Then there are testing modules for each class containing about 600 questions that could appear on the test. I find the best way to approach the final exams are to just study the 600 question modules over and over, do 100 questions at a time, and then the next time you take them it gives you the ones you missed + new ones, great way to learn the information as the books are a bore.

I am not sure if they are downloadable on the interwebs, but the ones we use are CramMaster, Test Out, and CertBlaster. I have curriculum and test modules for Network+, A+, and Security+. If you cannot find them online, hit me up and I can send you some ISO's (I have permission from the school to have the ISO's and distribute them to those in need.)

Also, if you are in High School your school's tech manager or teacher can write you up a voucher to waive the heavy fee to take the test. Anyway, good luck and hit me up if you need some help.

(PS: I am posting from Network+ right now, they are all quite easy classes.)
