now the E8500 is 70 bucks more, is it just a more option kinda updated thing? What im really asking will the e8500 go a lil farther on OC than e8400?

I love the price of the processors though, last tim ei got the 4400+ the day it came out was like 500 bucks.

yes there have been reviews that have shown the e8500 to get a bit higher. It overclocks a bit better because of its 9.5x multiplier.

Looking at getting two of these cards...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143119

So running those two overclocked be about the best bang for the buck right now?

I already kinda wanna go with this PSU as i had a similair one before and liked it lot. http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817148034

I used to go with OCZ's good memory, but is that what i should still be shooting for?

either those cards or these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130337

How much memory are you planning on getting? How much do you want to spend on it?

BTW, I would get a better PSU for that price range.

The best deal on 4Gb of ram are these. For the PSU might I recommend the Corsair TX750w. I have both of these items and they are running great for me. The Corsait PSU review very well and are the best bang for the buck, you can check out the review at jonnyguru.com.

Don't overlook the number crunching aspect.. this is NOT merely a gaming rig.

Given that part, I actually recommend the Q6700. RecentG0 batches of the Q6600 don't overclock that high as older G0's, and the Q6700 overclocks better at the moment, and isn't much more expensive.

SLI is only worth it of you game at high resolutions (by which I mean above 1680x1050). A single 8800GTS 512MB is capable enough to handle almost anything at resolutions up to and including 1680x1050. With that in mind, think which games you'll be playing and if SLI is worth it for you.

Well i know most games can play well with just one card, but i'll be getting a 22"plus monitor maybe a bit bigger depending on deals and just wanna be able to run pretty hard and not worry about frying it cause it was at its limit too long. Since having my laptop run at 1900x1200 i cant go any lower than that cause im in love with it.

Would it be better to spend 500 on one card like this and get a second later down the road...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150301

or just get two cards for 500ish now and run Sli'd?

I mean me spending 500ish right now doesnt matter, but would i really benefit that much from having two cards do the work compared to one big one. Cause im sure running two of those would be insane.

One the note about the memory, i think i like the ones Emeril posted, little cheaper i see a tad slower, but it looks like mainly the shielding is the bigger benefit for the 60 bucks...but i plan to watercool so those would probably be wasted money. Not sure..tough call.
